Rooftop Grease Containment in Myrtle Beach

Rooftop grease containment systems that capture exhaust fan runoff before it damages your roof, stains your building, or becomes a fire hazard.

Overview

Keep Grease Off Your Roof

Your exhaust fan doesn’t just move air — it also discharges grease. Without a containment system, that grease drips onto your roof, where it breaks down roofing membranes, creates slip hazards, washes into gutters, and becomes a fire risk.

A&A installs and services rooftop grease containment systems that capture grease at the fan and hold it in an absorbent filter until it’s replaced. We’ll recommend the right system for your roof type and exhaust volume.

  • Assessment of current grease damage
  • Containment system sized to your exhaust fan
  • Installation on flat membrane, metal, and other roof types

  • Recommendations for roof protection and repair

Why It Matters

Grease Is Expensive to Ignore

Many roofing materials, especially flat membrane roofs, break down when exposed to cooking grease — and roof damage caused by grease is often excluded from warranties. Grease on the roof can also wash into storm drains, which may violate local stormwater rules.

NFPA 96 calls for rooftop exhaust fans to drain grease into a container that’s readily accessible and visible. A properly installed and maintained containment system keeps you compliant and protects one of your building’s most expensive components.

Questions & Answers

Grease Containment FAQ

Why is there grease on our roof?

Your exhaust fan discharges some grease with the exhaust air, especially when filters or ducts are dirty. Without containment, it collects on the roof around the fan.

How often do grease containment filters need to be replaced?

It depends on your cooking volume. Most kitchens need a replacement every one to three months. We check them during every hood cleaning and replace them when they’re saturated.

Will grease damage our roof?

Yes. Grease breaks down many roofing materials, especially flat membrane roofs, and grease damage is often excluded from roof warranties.

Can you add containment to an existing fan?

In most cases, yes. We’ll evaluate your fan and roof and recommend the right system.
