Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems in Myrtle Beach

Installation, semi-annual inspection, and repair of restaurant fire suppression systems — documented and compliant with NFPA 96 and NFPA 17A.

Overview

Protection That Works the Moment You Need It

Your kitchen fire suppression system is the last line of defense between a grease flare-up and a disaster. When a fire starts under the hood, the system detects the heat, shuts off fuel to the cooking line, and releases a wet chemical agent that knocks the fire down and helps prevent re-ignition.

A&A installs new systems, inspects and services existing ones every six months, and repairs or recharges systems after a discharge. We work with major manufacturers, including Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Kidde, Amerex, Buckeye, and Range Guard.

Opening a new restaurant or changing your cooking line? We’ll design and install a system that fits your appliances and meets the UL 300 standard for wet chemical systems.

Why It Matters

Inspections Every Six Months Aren’t Optional

NFPA 96 and NFPA 17A require kitchen fire suppression systems to be inspected and serviced by a trained technician every six months. Fire marshals check the tag, and insurance carriers often ask for the records after any claim.

Systems also need attention whenever your cooking line changes. Moving a fryer or adding a charbroiler can leave appliances outside nozzle coverage — a deficiency that inspectors flag immediately. Older dry-chemical systems that don’t meet the UL 300 standard generally need to be upgraded to a modern wet chemical system.

Signs your system needs attention now

  • The inspection tag is more than six months old
  • You’ve moved, added, or replaced cooking appliances
  • The system discharged — even partially
  • A fire marshal or insurer noted a deficiency
  • You have an older dry-chemical system

Questions & Answers

Fire Suppression Systems FAQ

How often does a kitchen fire suppression system need to be inspected?

Every six months. NFPA 96 and NFPA 17A require semi-annual inspection and service by a trained technician, with a tag and written record left on site.

What happens if our system discharges?

Call us right away at (843) 215-4147. The system must be cleaned up, inspected, recharged, and reset before you can safely cook again. Many insurance carriers also require documentation of the service.

We moved our fryer. Does that affect the suppression system?

Very likely. Nozzles are aimed at specific appliances. If equipment is moved, added, or swapped, the system needs to be checked and adjusted so every appliance is still protected.

What is UL 300 and does my system meet it?

UL 300 is the testing standard for restaurant fire suppression systems, created because modern high-efficiency fryers and vegetable oils burn hotter. Older dry-chemical systems generally don’t meet it. We’ll tell you during inspection whether your system is compliant.

Can you service a system another company installed?

Yes. We service all major brands, regardless of who installed them.
